Stripped SK720 from Belt CP 700N and mounted it on Belt CP 6HV:

Setup the makeshift connections on the bench and run the initial wizard that mainly has to do woth SK720 orientation, Spektrum satellites binding, Tx input scaling, servo selection and so on:

Selected the Futaba S9256 as a tail servo and did the operational test, the small Spektrum voltage regulator is a 2A thingy and drops the voltage down for 3 things: tail servo, ESC reference signal and telemetry module. Will have to double check TM1000 specs, maybe it can run off 8.4V directly :

Andy, you were spot on !!! The tail servo as well and kicking . It was just frame rate and pulse width that made it appear dead before

Nope I haven't. Gerd had put some 30-40 flights on it before I bought it off him, then he partially disassembled it to make it fit into the original box for shipment and I never reassembled it until now when I finally have all the parts to go FBL. Mind you, that includes FBL parts for other helis as well, couldn't stomach the idea of leaving Belt 700N crippled for example, so it's got a nice MB+CP2 combo now awaiting installation.

BTW, Belt 6HV parts are much more difficult to get than Belt CP's so I'll have to be really careful flying it. Also, it makes me thinking that my next Belt should be Align variety

I'll try to beat you to maiden, Raf

In the meantime, I have corrected the thread name, an obvious error that was causing a stress to some mods. Mods, apologies for the original confusion, must be the age related thing Tom's talking about all the time that's finally getting to yours truly:

Already got 2 sets of 2 * Hyperion VX G3 6S 2600mAh 35C and one set of 2 * V-Plus XP 6S 2600mAh 30C, expecting to see 7-8 min of flight time with my mild sports flying, planning to drop head RPM to about 1800-1900RPM, not sure how well the HW 70A-HV will work at these speeds, though.

No clue, using the stock pinion at 100% flat.

Here's your answer guys. Some measurements with my stock 6HV.
Sportflying for 8 and a half minutes at most, if you don't push it hard of course.

Once upon a time we calculated with Raf that the flight time was inversely proportional to the HS, he did also a bunch of of tests on a 450, practically a straight line dependency. He's also got his Logo 600 to fly for some absurdly long times of >40 min by adding extra packs and lowering HS to the brink of instability.

On 6HV's 10T pinion, 104T main gear and stock 540 kv motor 100% throttle translates in about 2100 RPM considering about 90% motor efficiency. If you're getting 6 min out of 3300 packs I'll need to drop the HS to about 1700 RPM just to get the same 6 min.
Of course putting around the sky (my skill level) vs stick banging (NOT my skill level) may give me another minute or even two...

This darn 6HV is being a nightmare to fit the electronics on , you'd think there is enough space on a 600, right? Think again, the frame is actually narrower than on my original TR450SE, no kidding. Almost got it sorted out, but still not finished, maybe it wasn't meant for the list of electronics that I'm fitting on it:
  • Stock HW 70A-HV esc
  • SK720 + 2 satellites
  • SK720 power bus to separate 8.4V from 5.2V side
  • Flight pack battery, 2S 2100mAh
  • TM1000 telemetry module with all the sensors (temp, RPM, voltage)
  • Spektrum VR5203 2A voltage regulator, it's very small and I need it only for tail servo, darn, also for TM1000 module
Biggest surprise so far: I can power SK720 directly from 2S flight pack, and so could I with AR8000 if I were using it (I'm not on this setup), but the darn telemetry unit TM1000 is rated only for 8V !!! So I need to feed it from 5.2V side of the regulator

It's a very narrow frame indeed, which makes it excellent in terms of agility, all the mass is concentrated, but you're right about the downside: no room to fit much stuff, best to keep it as simple as ever possible. You could forget about the telemetry for example ?
