I have the same one and like the visibility. Haven't had the nerve to try the classic one, which is so cool.

What do you look for? Wobble or play when spinning by hand?

Well put. I had this happen on my 450 within I swear two inches of the ground. Didn't even think, just saved it.

Pinion checks: take it off and inspect the rollers; inspect the motor shaft adapter too. Put it back on and verify it spins freely in one direction and locks in the other.

I don't think these wear off as fast as suggested. Mine (15t) has almost 200 flights and shows no signs of getting tired. Early on in the Protos days, the small pinions (12-13T) used to break and or seize, but that problem has long since been addressed.

Flew six packs thru it nice and mellow flips and rolls getting used to going from 10 deg of cyclic to 13 some none in monovers and the best thing of all brought it home in one piece. Tightend the tail belt

2 packs last night and knees were shakin like I was a noob again No Idea why. Wasnt pushing myself to hard, Some high speed Stall and Piro turns over the valley.
Still can't get Tic Toc controls down. I can do it in SIM really well. She stays put. But seems more like short fast rainbows with my Protos, and allways drifting with the tail rotor push.

Same boat here. I've been working on my 450 a lot, starting out with it to warm up, and the Protos seems a lot of heli. Maybe I need to do more close-in work, rather than the high-speed sport flying I also enjoy. Still not used to a big bird, I guess. Let's stick together!

Rebuilt three servos. On to the head and servo frames. Totally lost orientation practicing piroflips a bit too distant. I'm going to switch to a hollow shaft while I'm at it and see if that gives it some more responsiveness.

I recieved my MKS metal gearsets for my Futaba 9660 servos which I hope to install shortly.

I remember trying to get a set of these and only finding 9660A+ gears a while back which of course didn't fit.

I thought these were not being made anymore. Let us know how they fit. My 9650 servos have them but they've developed a little bit of play after hundreds of flights.

I thought so too!

There was a thread on the main page a while ago about servos and someone gave me this link.

It may be next week before I get a chance to install them.

Rebuilt (servo blocks, lower block, main gear, servo gears!) and added a nice orange Lynx vertical fin. All that mess but didn't crack the curtis main blades or grips...!

Another 4 great flights. Still cant keep my sideways from traveling in flips, rainbows tic tocs etc. But started on funnels. Just kinda pitched the heli sideways and did a 1/2 circle tail in. Bout 10ft radius. Went back and forth, faster and such. Now to keep on that in the sim, see where it takes me. Was real comfortable witht he 1/2 circle, bout a 30* bank nose up

Oh and balanced my tails and mains. Usually Edge have been pretty spot on. I have been using a see saw style balancer. But this time, I did the balance on a razor to find CG. Then make the CG the same and balanced them on the head. Took A LOT of tape. 1 full wrap electrical tape to get CG the same, then 1 wrap and 1/2" more at CG on other blade to get them balanced. Way out. But holly crap, so much smoother. Upped tail gain 3% I think I can go more too
