First let me say that I LOVE my new Embla FBL. I was stunned how well it flew the first time and the quality of the kit is top notch.
The one thing I dont like is the apparent lack of parts availability. I was doing some bench tweaking (failsafes) and removed the set screw from the pinion gear so I could apply some power and then kill the radio to make sure everything spooled down without having to worry about the blades. Sadly, I should have completely removed the pinion as it somehow caught on the engine shaft (heat expansion?) and proceeded to quickly melt a few teeth on my main gear as I was holding the Embla by the rotor head.... So now I'm in need of a main gear and nobody has any parts. Thankfully I haven't had a crash yet and needed LOTS of parts! The main gear looks identical to Thunder Tiger e325 main gear, so I ordered it since parts looks to be quite a ways off.. Anyway... kind of a bummer trumpet.. We got our parts three weeks ago. Bounced my embla, not sure if was me dumb thumbing it or a servo failure. These little birds are tough. Broken landing gear and dead servo was all I had to replace.

Sadly, they dont categorize by model.. Just search for the part number minus the dash.
ie:0304-147 becomes 0304147 All the Embla parts start with EB. http://www.modelrectifier.com/search...w.asp?ID=12667 |

The Embla was a joint venture with Thunder Tiger so the pitch slider from the mini Titan might be the same. If not try RCJapan.net. The slider is $17 there.
You are finding out what a lot of people are, Hirobo is slowly fading from the US market. I have a Lepton which came out in 2006 and those parts are almost non-existant here. Parts for the SDX and Freya are also hard to come by in the US. So I will be getting my parts from RCJapan from now on. |
