Default mqx camera set up

tell us what camera you're using and how u mounted it. Videos and pics would be great. Looking to put a camera on my little guy. Wanted to know the best camera and mount system. Also heard that blade balance is important for no vibration. What are the thoughts on this and how do u balance Blades?

I used the cheap China keychain cam with a bit of velcro on the top of the canopy. Worked great! I haven't posted the vid yet but will get around to it. Not sure what other cams are out there that are small enough

My camera/TX/RX arrived yesterday and I will be fitting it out over the weekend. The on-board camera/TX weighs 2.3 Gm, and I plan to use a 200MAH Lipo from my Genius for a seperate power supply.

Using the 808 #14 cam in this vid. This was just the first test and I have't been able to test again because the weather has been crap here. Not the greatest quality but it was like 15 bucks shipped so I wasn't expecting go pro type video. I think if I can position it a little better and isolate the vibes more the video may come out better.

Mute your sound if you watch this it is horrid lol.

Default MQX Camera Mount

Placed an 808 keychain cam mounted on top of the shell with servo mounting tape. Not a pretty installation but it worked for indoor flight. Was only able to test it flying around the shop due to the windy and cold weather we were having here in Minnesota.

Default I put 808 # 8 keychain on the battery mount

I used a ADHESIVE (sticky back) CABLE TIE BLOCK across the battery mount
two small tie raps to secure the camera to the tie block.
2 minutes install and it and worked well
attached is a pic of the cable tie block.
The only problem in the whole system was the USB cable that came with the camera was bad. But, I had a skookum 720 cable that worked great. This was the first 808 I have put on a helicopter, it will now be standard equipment on everything

Used velcro to attach the camera to the battery holder and also added a fishing leader line to the camera where the keychain was and secure that to the battery holder just in case! Works for me

I've got the WLtoys v929 quadcopter, whitch is pretty similar to the MQx. On board video is awesome sometimes and you can do some pretty cool stuff. I've got a video from my quad here:
sorry I wasn't filming the quad for a second, it's hard to film and fly at the same time. I am pretty sure I'm using the 808 #14. As far as balancing props goes, I've been trying a few possibilities. You can do a dynamic balance by sanding a little off of one side of the prop and see if it vibrates more or less, if it is more, then sand off the opposite side, keep going till there is as little vibration possible (this video shows a helpful technique that allows for you to see the vibrations
). You can also use a prop balancer, but I haven't been able to find one that is small enough. For this technique you use the balancer to find the heavy side (it will drop down) and sand some of it off. I'm working on building a balancer and I'm going to make sure it works then I'll post a video with step by step instructions.
Hope this helps!

Dice Cams have been back ordered for months. How did you get one?

Anyone have any luck with a GoPro?

I just ordered a couple of the 808# 16 cams from massiverc.com
as they were recommended trusted sellers of this model cam
they were excellent to deal with & seem to specialize in the small quads & keyfob cams
Im going to be pretty excited to try them out on the mqx & now I have my eye on a larger quad,... so Ill see how it goes , Im not really sure how long these cams last but the newer versions do have a replaceable battery

808 #16 D-type camera under my BL mQX

The propellers are barely visible, even with the wide-angle lens.
