Ya I run 15t on Pyro 450 to get 1885.
What kind of head speeds are you after? 16t @ 60% will give you 2250

Man with the JIVE it's telling me like 2500 rpm.
With pinion overkill like that you are giving away torque... Like 15% of it. A whole mess of headroom isn't a good thing... You see a lot of heat. I'm gonna start with the 13T, and probably move to the 14T later after lipos break in. Most use a 14t with the 520 motor. Also, the castle number calcs are kinda crap. I used to use one and ran it past what it said was possible. It worked great, no bogging. I'd listen to other people or jive numbers before I listened to the castle software.

with 2150 for my IU2 i get 87.9% in CC software so im only gaining 5% extra cause 93.8% is what i would get with a 15t (95%.is MAX software says you shouldn't go over)..plus by running a 16t i have more room to screw around with messing with HS over 2150 not that i would ever fly anything over 2150 i like knowing that i can go over that if i like....and since i got more teeth on pinion ill be less prone to stripping also...i talked to a buddy of mine on skype who also a team pilot in Europe and he did recommend the 15t but also said if u get a good enough motor u can fly at 1950 and it would feel like it was 2150 dunno if thats true but thats what he said...anyway im gunna start off with the 16t to see how i like it but i think i should be ok...every time i build a new heli i so the same thing before i buy a motor and Pinion...I use the CC software first by putting in the HS i want then i mess around with motor KV and Pinions to get the desired combo i would use...so far it been working perfect when i do this...so will see what happens..this is a new brand of motor im trying so maybe things will be different some how

With my little ole Align 700MX-510, and 14t, I get about 2000 with 70% throttle, but it doesn't have the unlimited torque of that 4525LE Frank is running. It's more nice all around flyer. Runs cool, and doesn't work over my Gens Ace 30C packs.
Hoping the Compass motor ships soon to liven it up a bit. Have fun with yours! You trying the Quantum?

I think the Pyro is a great option. It's soooo light.
