It looked like if I hadn't hit TH, it would have flown out of the situation just fine, I was just too disoriented from flying over and behind myself, and dizzyheaded from allergies to trust I wasn't dumbthumbing it. The goal was to keep it in front of us away from the parking lot

That's ok- I think it is always better to hit TH and dump the heli than to take the risk to hit somebody or something that does not belong to you.

Not bad. I mean the quality is better than I thought it would be due to vibrations.

Now I wanna see some fast loops around all those power lines

Crazy insane power with the following setup: Scorpion HKII-2213-14, Scorpion Commander 35amp ESC, MKS DS92A+ on cyclic, MKS DS95i on rudder, Lynx frame brace, Lynx slant gear / 14t pinion, Mikado mini v-bar, Spektrum DSMX satellite, Edge 253mm main blades and stock carbon tail blades.

Very nice flying and video. Kudos from a fellow Texan. That looks like a sweet flying field you've got up there. Gotta dig the helipad. I lived near Grapevine (in Flower Mound) when I was young... now in Austin.

I have a question about how you've got the ESC set up. Is that running 100% flat out or do you enable the governor? I'm also interested in what kind of flight times you're getting out of it.

I'm excited to see this demonstration since I've got the parts for a similar setup on order. Just waiting on the motor and servos.
  • Hyperion 2213-3585 motor (same specs as Scorpion 2213-14)
  • TGY-S306G-HV servos for cyclic and tail (similar in spec to DS92A+. I'm going to try one of these for the tail too and see how that goes. I've got the DS95i on the 450X tail and love it. I'm just trying to do the 300X on the cheap.)
  • Sticking with the AR7200BX for now
  • Edge 253mm main blades
  • Stock carbon fiber tail blades
  • It already has a Lynx slant gear/OWB and I'll use the 14T slant pinion.
  • I'm planning to run the governor in my Castle ESC (high speed around 3500 rpm)

Thanks guys. I did the video while I was at the CollectiveRC fun fly in Oklahoma City last weekend. This little heli is alot of fun, with the crazy pitch that I'm running, I'm getting 3 minutes to have at least 20% remaining in the pack. I am running 100% flat throttle curve (no governor) with a 14t pinion on the HKII-2213-14. Good luck with your build and I'm sure you'll have just as much fun with it.

Laid back flight in the street yesterday. Too windy to go to a field so just playing in the street. Lynx test motor 4100 kv (ish), esc, and servos. 11t pinion governed to 3500 rpms. She's a porker at 384 grams but handles it pretty well. I have a 3500kv version I may try next weekend, flying it in the 450 currently.
