This evening I just maidened my Beam Avantgarde.
Now, that's a very nice helicopter. Power, even at 1700 RPM. And a raise to 1800 RPM made it speed up in all movements. I'll fly around at 1800 for some time before trying 2000 RPM. I had no idea what RPM to use, because I couldn't find the manual. So, having a Castle 100A ESC, I tried these three RPM's. I have read it flies well at both high and low headspeeds. That's a large plus in my book. Also the cheap crashes, when it will happen. So, like Droopy say: I'm happy. Cheers Erik

Nice!!
Wish i were writing a similar post. I'm enjoying low rpm more and more, and this heli seems to be very versatile, thanks to the low weight. Is it possible to see some footage at those rpm's? Enjoy your heli

Thank you for the kind words.
Just now I tried to get a YouTube account so I could upload the (bad quality) video of the very careful maiden flight. I've already had to make a gmail account to use my smartphone, but this annoyed me. It looked like I had to create another Google account for Youtube. So I left - too annoying. Sorry. I'll just say it flew well at 1700 RPM and even better at 1800. You need not worry. Of course, if you want to press it hard at 1700, you may need larger tail blades. But awesome pitch pumps can be made with 1800 RPM - no problem. I wonder why there aren't more Avantgarde owners - it's such a great heli. They need to advertise. And make their website work well and support the users. Cheers Erik

Now I have uploaded some footage of the 1st flight ever of my Beam.
It's at 1700 RPM. I had to start somewhere, so I had 1700, 1800 and 2000 as idle-up's. I start at 1700 and at a time I switch to 1800 (you can't miss it). Sorry about the lack of quality, but it was taken with a phone and it's my first flight with anything larger than my 500esp. Near the end a gnat attacked my left ear. They are a problem, but my wife gave me a solution: There is a common bush the gnats don't like. A belt of those around our field and the gnats will stay away. Cheers Erik
