I have a lot of FPV gear for my 700E rig, but I would like to fool around with a tiny Tx/Camera combo on small E-Flite type helis I have kicking around. Preferably 1.3Ghz.
Any thoughts on where I might obtain an extremely light Tx/Camera combo? Thanks |

fpvhobby.com has quite a few micro cameras and tiny video transmitters of the various frequencies. Looks like 1.3 is sold out right now though.

The smallest basic camera/tx combo will currently weigh in at around 3-4grams.
Fpvhobby... try searching the forums about them. I and other members have had issues with fpvhobby. I received a faulty transmitter from them just yesterday. foxtechfpv.com sell the same stuff. I'm literally about to get this transmitter: http://www.foxtechfpv.com/tx5823-200...ers-p-272.html |

BTW, why do you think there's a 10mW and then a 200mW version? Also, what do you use for an antenna on the tiny board?

The different power tx's are just there so you can decide how much radio power they output. I chose the most powerful one because it offers better range.
For an antenna, I just use a piece if wire 1/4 wavelength for the frequency (12.5mm for 5.8ghz) Sent from my GT-S5570 using Tapatalk 2 |

Thanks for the info on the antenna length. I should have been more specific about the 10 versus 200mw comment. What I meant was why would such a similarly sized device have such a divergence of output from one to the other? I mean, could it be that the 200 is grossly exaggerated as we know often happens with regular size transmitters?

I think its related to the local laws in your area. Some people arent allowed to use a 200mw transmitter without a license. In other areas, 200mw isnt an issue at all

here you go 5.8 ghz and pretty expensive. But it's a finished set. I ordered one of these. |

Says UP TO 500m, but practical will be 250m considering it's a 20mw output. Go at least 200mw if you want to FPV. The last thing you want is to be flying and loose camera signal don't you think?

I dunno Thalios, if he's looking for the smallest/lightest fpv setup he's probably putting it on a small/light aircraft. 200m of range is a lot when your heli is only tiny

Fpv set i ordered will be mounted on a ladybird quad. So indeed, small :-)
Also note that a 200 mw tx will eat much more battery power then a 20 mw tx. And since weight is a big issue on small aircraft, you want batteries to be light. |
