Whenever I read up on the "flybar vs flybarless" arguments, it always comes up that the flybarless "tracks" better? I am still a noob, so I am not 100% sure what is meant by this. Is this in reference to the pitching up effect in fast forward flight due to dissymmetry of lift? Or are there more interactions?
Why I ask, I recently started hover practice on a Blade 450 3D. After 2 stupid crashes, I went out and bought Phoenix and a Blade MCPX. to practice first. I can now fly circuits, hover etc well with the MCPX, but moving to the 450 feels very different ![]() |

Basically it means that the helicopter "stays put" with minimal correction.
It does not change attitude unexpectedly based on...wind...or ...CG issues...or inaccurate setups...while a flybar helicopter is more prone to do so. The fbl system fights to keep it put until you give a comand.

Also something I heard on Smacktalk RC is that big loops etc also need constant correcting, and that tracking also has to do with the setup mixing aileron and elevator, which becomes worse in bad setups. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |

its kind of lazy really as technology comes in ..... first there was no gyro ..... helis were real hard to fly (try flying yours in rate mode) .... then the 3 axis gyro takes all the correction needed to demonstrate skill and reaction times.
It is sad really ..... but hey if you can't beat em ... join em. |

Sad is relative...
Once upon a time cars had no cruise control...no a/c...no power steering...no heating...no stereo...no ABS... was it more fun? Well for a masochist it was a challenge. 5 years into helis...I have learned allot...I can fly...with or without a flybar...with or without 3axis gyro...but technology made having more fun possible...so why not...hell if there was means of transport today ...who knows...we would be healthier...fitter...richer...so...is the car a good invention?
