Funny - I just have to give my five cents
Before I started to watch Bob's videos I would not dream of building a heli of my own, even though I am "good with my hands" - and I have ordered an E-flite Blade 400. Now I can not wait to "outlive" the Blade to be able to build a T-rex 500 Peter |

Don't wait, start building your 500 now. That way when you crash your Blade, you will have something else to fly.

Bob,
Are you going to run a standard sized tail servo on your 500? I think it would be pretty awesome. The only problem I can see is how well is it going to balance? Street Flyer

First build no I am going to run a 3400G. After that I will throw on a 9254 and see how well it balances.

I know its not meant to be, but I would like to use STANDARD SIZE SERVOS (I have a spare set of Z9000s).
Has anyone considered that? Since I did not receive my 500 yet, there is no way of measuring for me. I would very much appreciate some remarks in the build video about this like: - possible with sawing, grinding the frame etc. or - impossible, because no frame left after enlarging the hole. I think the frame would have had enough space for std servos when the servo holes were in parallel to the battery tray. looking forward for your next piece of excellent art work |

NO WAY are you going to get full sized servos in this thing.
You will see when I do the vid and SURE I will show you why. Bob

Bob, don't you have to trim off "tangs" for the 9650's to fit?
