Final flight of the afternoon before heading to work, wanted to have a little fun at high headspeed. Unfortunately this is just a bit too much for stock gearing, it can't quite keep up and starts to bog about halfway through due to lack of governor overhead. Oh well. Still fun this thing is crazy fast! 2:09 was... scary

T-REX 470LP Dominator | 3250rpm (3 min 33 sec)

A quick video showing the performance at only around 2700rpm. This is a completely stock Trex 470LP kit on a 6s 1200mAh pack. 3 minutes of flight time at this headspeed is easily achievable. Plenty of power for most things and it's pretty quiet at this speed. With an 1800mAh battery, 5 minutes would not be out of the question.
T-REX 470LP Dominator | Low Headspeed Performance (3 min 9 sec)

Testing a little 4k with the iPhone 6S+... I think I prefer 1080p60...

Yeah, I don't know if it's for Black Friday or because they put up the basic metal kit. But we couldn't resist so my girlfriend got me the basic plastic kit at the trex store for less then 200 shipped for Christmas. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Very Good flight.
Can you compare flight performance or feel different from 450L? I baught 470LM but not yet assembled. Here is winter so so cold now. I am wating warm weather. I only been flown 450 serious until 450L and now expect good performance from new 470L

Just an FYI. My 470lm showed up this morning and when I opened the box, it had the new tail shaft sitting on the top all by itself in a separate bag. It still came with 69 tail blades but I already had he 74 waiting.

Now time to start the build!

It's a lot more locked in than the 450L. Servos are much better. Much smoother because they finally got rid of the DFC head. More powerful.

lol like you said you can't really compare.

look at the size of the components(refer to Keith's 450 Sport vs 470L pics), it's like comparing a Heavy weight to a Middle weight.

also

Belt vs TT, 1.3Kilowatt motor, etc etc

No logic to it

I think mine weighs around 1150g RTF, though I'm not totally sure as my scale ran out of battery before I could get a good look lol

just the beefy parts look leans towards the 500 size. I remember a long time ago when the very first stretching mods started with the 450. 300mm > 310mm>325mm>335mm>360mm then someone saying " 380mm is a whole new ball game for the 450, 380mm heli is a league on it's own."

Just looking at your comparison pics, he was right, I can't remember his name but he was one of the very first helifreak pilots.

After having flown traditional FB 450's 315mm - 325mm it is a whole different class of heli. Even with the beefed up head and all, its still a ways off from the 425mm 500 ESP heli I have as far as presence in the air and size of components.

I like how fast and precise mine feels in the air though. It's a sweet flying heli.

Idk, I really can't tell much of a difference between my 470 and the 500L I flew at IRCHA.

I think 470L is successor of 450L.
Because I've been waiting for a new 450 class after 450L And It adopt most improvement from its I've flown most trex450 sreries from its first time. Trex 450 class changed many times and i believe no 450 class release more from align. Just my guess.

Based on the pricing, I'd agree, the 450 is dead.
