You could also mention that you did a succesfull indoor hover with it Erwin, before I tried the same, but as the servo failed at that time, I destroyed the mainblade against the wall, lol.
![]() Luckily we had spare blades, but there wasn't enough time left today to change the servo.

I like that ,destroyed the "mainblade".
I don't think people realize how hard it is to find 1 mainblade at your LHS and try to explain you only need 1 blade ![]() ![]()

Guess you could rummage thru the trash at the local flying club, but looking at that weather I don't think there would be too much to go thru.
Congradulations on a successful test, especially with a stripped servo! Once again, we are all proven to, once again, "we are not worthy"! ![]()

+1, Great test. It is amazing that it flies at all. Let's just summarise:
1 x Mainblade. 1 x Tailblade. 0 x Flybar. 0 x Electronic stabalisation. 2 x Cyclic servos. And it is a Belt-CP. What else can it have going against it, and still get in the air. Really looking forward to a full test with 3 working servos. Fantastic work. Cheers Sutty

I love it Erwin! It's always fun to see the things my fellow freaks come up with.
Speaking of main blades, I was at the LHS the other day and there was a guy there with his HBK2. He was telling one of the shop guys that they should sell single blades, 'cause he was always breaking the left blade and he already had a pile of right side blades and he was tired of having to buy the right side blades when he really only need the left one. When the shop guy tried to tell him the left and right blades were the same, the guy accused him of just trying to increase sales by selling unnecessary parts and stomped out the door without a new left blade. He was so busy ranting, I didn't get a chance to tell him that the heli only really needed one blade to fly ![]()

Well, yes and no.
This particular Belt was my very first collective pitch machine, and I really struggled with it. Set it up, crash it, rebuild it, set it up, crash it, rebuild it.... I finally got it flying with a lot of help from the guys here and a lot of "abuse" from Dierwolf. As with all things Esky, the original gyro expired shortly after I finally got it flying right. I replaced the original gyro with this one, and couldn't get it to fly. Finally Dierwolf told me he couldn't stand it anymore and to just mount the gyro this way. I said I don't think that's right, and in classic Dierwolf speak, he told me to do it the way he told me to, or just throw the damn thing in the trash. So I did it his way, and it works perfectly. I think it is mounted the wrong way, but it was too scared by Dierwolf not to work. I miss the politically incorrect, gruff bastard, and I wish he'd at least drop by to say hi. Dierwolf said to do it this way and it would work - ![]() He also said my wiring sucked and to clean it up. He approved of this corrected wiring - ![]()

Edge on, writing reading up/down, is totally correct, for that particular gyro, I knew that Dierwolf guy was a top bloke. I miss him a lot!

Mounted on its side is the only way that particular gyro will ever work.
Funny thing is, if you want to reverse it you have to turn it over....lol. Work well though. Darin
